A little bit about me

Welcome to my weekly Blog! My name is Andy Barrow. I’m a Wheelchair Rugby athlete – one of my biggest sporting achievements in recent years has been captaining Paralympic GB at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
Over the next months I’ll be giving you a behind the scenes look into my life, writing about what I get up to in preparation for London 2012 – the training, the competitions... basically all the sweat and tears that go into trying to qualify for Paralympic GB. In a team sport such as Wheelchair Rugby you are only ever as good as your team so in my blog I will also give you an insight into life in a team sport – the camaraderie, support and experience of ‘rising or falling as one’.
Today I’m on route to the Team 2012 launch at the Olympic Park. I’m excited to be meeting some of the other names and faces in Team 2012 and it should be a great experience. With all of us having the same ultimate goal of representing GB in the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics I’m sure the atmosphere will be positive and full of energy.
I will of course update you as soon as I’ve returned from my trip and will also try to upload some images and video to show you what happened on the day!
